Teeing it up

April 30, 2008

Made a trek out to Myers Park yesterday to catch a little T-ball. Check it out here.

Tee-ball, T-ball or tee ball…

April 29, 2008

We have a debate raging in the newsroom over the proper way to write the name of this sport. I prefer T-ball, but arguments can be made for doing it the other two ways as well.

Whatever I choose to title the post, I’m planning on taking in a game tonight at Myers featuring a pair of Kiwanis teams, the Rockies and Blue Jays.

It’s worth pointing out that we’re still looking for pictures, video or stories from the area recreation leagues. Send them to me at

Also, we’re planning a series of videos detaling the finer points of hitting, fielding, choosing the right equipment – and a host of other things as well. That’s going to involve me coming out to some practices. Anyone want to volunteer? Drop me a line, and we’ll set it up.

What to do on a rainy day?

April 21, 2008

As rain pounds the pavement outside our office, I thought now might be a good time to share the inclement weather numbers for the local leagues:

Fayetteville-Cumberland (306-7325)

West Fayetteville (484-6140)

Hope Mills (424-4500, option three, then option eight)
